Jorn Thulstrup

Jorn Thulstrup is founder and CEO of the Institute for Business Cycle Analysis, IBCA, an independent think tank, research, forecasting and information service company, which since 1985 has conducted quarterly surveys of consumer behaviour in Denmark and a number of other European countries including Russia. Since February 2001, IBCA has also produced a monthly consumer survey in the United States.

Born in 1940, Jorn Thulstrup received a Masters Degree in Economics and Political Science from Copenhagen University in 1968. He has worked as director of research under The Danish Research Council for Social Science, as an analyst for The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), and was financial and energy editor at The Danish Broadcasting Corporation between 1977-1985. He is a member of the steering committee of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and an advisor and consultant to governments, private companies and organisations in Denmark and abroad. He is Vice-president of the National Press Club of Denmark.

He has travelled abroad extensively on a regular basis since the early 60s. Visited a number of countries in Asia first time 1964, Moscow 1968, and China 1978. Over the years he has visited and reported from the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Russia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Afghanistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Japan, India, Thailand, New Zealand, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Dubai, Qatar, Bahrain, South Africa, Gambia, Syria, Turkey, Morocco and a number of European countries. Several countries have been visited on a regular basis.

He is a frequent commentator in the media, has produced a large number of radio and TV-programmes, written books and articles about energy, international economics and politics. He has lectured at a number of universities and international institutions on economics, politics, energy and security issues.

Dr. Roger Selbert holds Masters and Ph.D. degrees in International Relations from the University of Southern California, where he was a Fulbright scholar, Haynes fellow and European Commission grantee. He earned his undergraduate degree in history from Bowdoin College, Maine.

Claus Thulstrup is partner and Director of the Institute for Business Cycle Analysis, IBCA. He holds a B.Sc. in Electronics and Computer science from the Danish Technical University. He did former serve as Director, COO at IKANO Fund Management S.A., as Head of IT at Bank of Copenhagen, and as software architect at IBM. Claus has more than 20 years of experience within financial and technology organisations where he worked closely with both front and back office environments
